I've heard of this show before, but never seen any clips of it until now. Funny how people do stuff like that on youtube all the time now withouth thininking or even knowing about Fractured Flickers. I've always been a big fan of Rocky and Bullwinkle and would probably like Ward's other stuff too if I saw it. I tried to immitate the punning nature of the cartoon on my blog last week. It was fun, I don't think I will do it again soon.

You forgot to mention Jim Backus as one of the recurring voice actors of The Magnificent Montague, as well as other radio comedy series of the 50s. He plays an assistant director and a tour bus conductor in the TMM's classic episode "Lost in Hollywood". To get the full effect of his brilliance, though, go find the underrated gem that is The Alan Young Show for his portrayal of rich boy Hubert Updike--sort of a proto-Thurston Howell III. The creator-writer of The Alan Young Show, in fact, was Sherwood Schwartz, who went on to create and write Gilligan's Island.

Hey Kevin -- looks like I missed this when you first posted it! Sorry! Sadly, that is not me in the icon you have seen me post with. It's actually Marie Prevost-not-Provost, in a promotional still for "The Godless Girl." Thanks for the shout-out! I get so behind on blogs that I miss a lot, but yours is one of the few I make sure I definitely check in on, even if it takes me forever.

Nice post. I love Jim Tyer's animation, but it's pretty hard to find, since Terrytoons haven't been released on DVD. Seeing Tyer shots broken down frame-by-frame is amazing.

I try to emulate his and Rod Scribner's styles to some extent in my own cartoons.
